Christala Cherry, CEO of Cherry Health Solutions, LLC, is dual board certified psychiatric mental health and family nurse practitioner. She has a broad background, close to 29 years of nursing experience, 19 of those as a nurse practitioner working in various settings and with a variety of populations, children, adolescents and adults.

Christala is faith based. She discovered an interest for healthier wellness habits as a young athlete and her interest and love for serving the community grew as she got older, and she soon discovered nursing would be her passion. Her parents were her first role models as professionals serving their communities. She enjoys working with all age populations, so this was an easy decision that she would first become a family nurse practitioner where she has served in the role for several years.

Christala obtained her undergraduate degrees from Richard Stockton State College, Durham Technical Technical Community College, and North Carolina Central University. She obtained her Masters Degree in Nursing from Rutgers University and graduate certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from Monmouth University. She is licensed to practice in the states of New Jersey and Pennsylvania. She is currently seeing patients virtually in New Jersey. She will see individuals from ages 11yo+.

Her focus is a spiritual, integrative, holistic approach to assist you in your journey to optimal mental health and wellness. Her clients enjoy a partnership being an active participant in their well being, and are willing to participate in talk therapy if medication is required. Her clients prefer take fewer prescription medications, and to taper down dosing of their medications as much as possible. They are open to alternative therapies because they want to feel better and be the best version of themselves.

Her approaches to treatment are evidence-based, including both pharmaceutical and nonpharmaceutical therapies, considering nutrition, lifestyle, spiritual and cultural factors.  She provides free consultations, perform psychiatric evaluations, nutrition assessments, medication management when appropriate, brief therapy intervention. She utilizes cognitive behavioral, person-centered, solution focused, motivational interviewing, and health coaching in treatment approaches.

Christala has continued to glean from others in the field of alternative therapies, naturopathic treatments, herbals and micronutrients. She currently studies at the American Academy of Functional Health with vision of integrating approaches in her own practice.
